But a different perspective on the season can also be enjoyed from the mountainsides. Although leaf drop from the canopy grays the panorama of the mountainsides, any late autumn walk through the woods opens the views and provides a rustling carpet of still colorful foliage. - Vermont Foliage Report: Fall Colors Continue to Shine in the Valleys
MONTPELIER, Vt. - Oct. 15, 2009 – Vibrant foliage can be found in the valleys and lower western slopes of the Green Mountains, particularly near Lake Champlain and in southern Vermont. Precipitation on Tuesday morning has caused some leaves to drop, but plenty of bright color remains to be seen. Dry weather conditions for the second-half of the week will extend the quality of viewing. - Vermont Foliage Report: Brilliant Foliage Display on Columbus Day Weekend
