Mamzelle La France Lamentation Walloo Kings Of The Hill Ride On Ride On Shoofooni Ya Nass Get Outta My Padoga Boogie Balagan from Paris town to Palestisrael City, France http://www.myspace.com/boogiebalagan BARRIER-BREAKING ROCK'N ROLL BOOGIE BALAGAN BLENDS MIDDLE EASTERN VIBES WITH EXHILARATING ROCK'N ROLL TO CONVEY THEIR MESSAGE OF PEACE AND BREAK DOWN CULTURAL,LINGUSTIC,AND PHYSICAL BARRIERS IN THE MIDDLE EAST. In the autoproclamed Palestlsraeli duo Boogie Balagan , psychedelic rock n roll meets cool Middle Eastern vibes. Their first album Lamentation Walloo is a message of peace and multiculturalism. First, imagine voices that combine Julio Iglesias drinking straight tequilas and Joe Strummer high on harissa. Then, imagine a Mediterranean Jimmy Page torturing his electric guitar like a Greek bouzouki. Sprinkle it all with an infernal beat of pounding feet, and clapping hands and you get something of the ghost of t-rex smoking a water pipe in Gaza or Farid el Atrache jamming with the New York dools The Hebrew word Balagan means mess, making Boogie Balagan a messy boogie . From Sinai to Muddy Waters blooz, Boogie Balagan has invented a musical couscous marinated in 70 s Oriental with electric spices. PEACE THROUGH MUSIC Boogie Balagan is above all a duo. Gabri is the lead singer and Azri is playing the zguitar. A story shared between France Palestlsrael . At the early 2002 they decided to devote themselves entirely to Boogie Balagan and what was at first supposed to be a Muddy Waters covers became a unique project to blend the Middle Eastern groove and language with the raw energy of Robert Johnson. A project which shatters walls and barriers so that all can reunite under the flag of universal rock. Azri and Gabri sing about reunions, reconciliation and human love. lamentation walloo calls for a stop to lamentations and tells the story of an Israeli-Palestinian friendship between children. The lyrics are sung in English, French, Arabic, Greek, Hebrew They are strung together in a creative urban dialect making this rock n roll recipe a formidable weapon of peace. CLIMING OVER WALLS We feel that we just have to stop lamenting our fate. We would like to cross walls with music and songs. The aim is to show that by mixing lyrics and languages, as opposed to mixing with each other because we are restrained, the message can be carried out in a cheerful way . We are a bit nostalgic of the time when we were all working together back there and when we would share a watermelon in the break And the music-wise it was the same, with the Palestinians who worked in Israel, we used to jam all night by kitchens sharing the hafla , the party says Azri This French Palestlsraeli duo has dared to mix styles, blending sounds from their homelands, an American rhythm and multilingual lyrics. Everything is roots : the music, the words; even the collector cd box set is a matzot bread filled with Palestinian zaatar spice, salt from Dead Sea, with lamentations from Wailing Wall running through it.
  • COTTONROCK RADIO 2008 SHOW 11 FEATURING PREY FOR SLEEP
Escape Reborn Sins Of Unrest The Frailty Of Words This Is How People Die Death To Reason Prey For Sleep Austin, Texas United States http://www.myspace.com/preyforsleep When Prey for Sleep was formed, their intention was to create a sound that was both heavy and aggresive but also had some depth to it. As time passed and their ideas were realized in the form of songs, they developed a sound that was completely their own. With intensity and passion appearant in every second of every song, Prey for Sleep promises to fill the void left by other metal bands. Prey for Sleep has played in New York, New Jersey, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston. We've been lucky enough to share the stage with national acts like Deicide, Crowbar and Valume Nob. We're intent on showing the world what Austin has to offer in the way of metal. Playing music is what we live for.

  • COTTONROCK RADIO SHOW 5 FEATURING URBANSNAKE
Alive And Lonely Bulldozer Crawl Into Your Bones Energy Lines Orphan UrbanSnake Bronx, New York United States http://www.myspace.com/urbansnakemusic Urbansnake is an alternative metal/rock band from The Bronx, NYC. The band is influenced by a tapestry of creative heavy acts from the 70's through today, and has received worldwide airplay and strong reviews (see press page). Urbansnake aspires to compose music that doesn't draw on trends, but instead on the musical tastes of its individual members. The result is heavy and original. Garageband.com reviewers have described Urbansnake as "face-ripping" and "blinding." Lead singer Vinny Corvino has fronted several New-York based hard rock and metal bands, amongst them Holy Motorpunk and Stabbing Negatives. Holy Motorpunk's single "Meditation 17" received airplay on The Radio Chick show on New York's 102.7 WNEW. Rhythm Guitarist Kevin Aponte's band Semanon drew serious interest from Metal Blade Records, but disbanded shortly thereafter. Before starting Urbansnake with singer Corvino, Aponte toured the Florida club scene with Slyce. Corvino and Aponte have been a songwriting team for several years. The two were the major creative forces behind Holy Motorpunk. Aponte later rejoined with Semanon drummer George Paige to form Stabbing Negatives. Lead Guitarist Andy Romeo and Bassist James Papa were the driving force behind NYC's Requiem. During the '90's, Requiem headlined in clubs throughout the city and opened for major acts including Life of Agony and Biohazard. Requiem received airplay on commercial and college radio and toured clubs along the East Coast. Drummer Hemi Bordowitz played in the bands Lost Art and On My Signal. Urbansnake is currently composing new material and performing throughout the NYC Tri-State area.
