The DeSoto County Fair is a place of good, clean family entertainment and fun. High attendance and donations made a bigger impact on the show last year than in previous years. This past year 10 scholarships were awarded at the awards night at DHS.
Join us again this year to provide for the students and families of the community.
The Collier County Agricultural Fair & Exposition, Inc. has contributed to our community by providing support or fundraising opportunities for the following organizations Collier County Sheriffs Junior Deputy Program, Catholic Charities, 4-H Foundation, Open Youth of Collier County, Boy Scouts, Kiwanis Club, Naples Bears, Immokalee High School Band, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Youth Heaven and Palmetto High School Fishing Club.
In addition, we are a pre-designated Emergency assembly area for FPL, the state of Florida and Collier County.
The annual Florida State Fair is a salute to the states best in the agriculture and equestrian industry including an abundance of shows, music, rides, food and shopping for 12 consecutive days. Excitement is in the air all over the fairgrounds with plenty of free entertainment included with admission. Make sure to plan your day in advance to enjoy all the sights, sounds, and tastes the state fair has to offer. Parking is free during the Fair. Gates open daily at 9 a.m. and closing time varies by the day of the week and weather conditions.
The first meeting of the St. Lucie County Fair Association, Inc. was held on July 23, 1964 at 800 PM. Mr. W.G. Padrick, Jr. Chairman of the organizational committee presented the certified copy of the charter dated June 16, 1964.
Requests from the community to help came in right from the start. Tommy Hawkins of Hawkins and Sons paving gathered site preparation businesses to help with the clearing. With help from the County the infrastructure was under way.
We were first approached by members of the Sunrise Kiwanis Club of Ft. Pierce. Teaming up with the Downtown Club came the sponsorship of the Educational building. This building will house the St. Lucie County School exhibits during the fair and serve as an exhibit hall in the off season. Peter W. Busch of the Peter W. Busch Family Foundation then added a sponsorship of one of the horse barns. Individuals and businesses have sponsored benches, picnic tables, banners and anything needed to help with the growth of the grounds.
The Santa Rosa County Fair Assn., Inc. is a not for profit 501(c)3 organization, comprised of local volunteers. They work hard every year to make this fair an enjoyable Family event. Our Fair will continue to grow with your support and ideas. Please feel free to make suggestions to the Fair committee. We hope you have a fun and safe visit to the fair. The Santa Rosa County Fair is a community event with participation from all factions of the county.
Examples of the countys participation includes students from Milton High School earning community service hours required for the Florida Academics Scholarship program through cleaning of the Fair grounds, Band Boosters working the gates and selling soda and shish-ka-bob, Life Guard Ambulance providing First Aid, various 4-H clubs providing the majority of the required exhibits, and the ARC helps on handicap night. The Exhibits are from individuals, clubs, schools, Government departments, and various non-profit organizations.
It takes many hours of planning for all of these different organizations to come together as a unit and provide the Fair. Without the leaders of these organizations and our Sponsors, the Fair would not be. Any non profit organization interested in participating in the Fair needs to contact the Fair Committee so we can work you into the planning. Last years attendance reached 25,000 visitors!
The Southwestern Fair Commission, Inc., a non-profit corporation, has operated the Pima County Fairgrounds since the 1970s.
