Even a major free-market economic crisis hasn't broken the love affair between business execs and their favorite free-market philosopher.
That the two companies should clash is no surprise. But over Google Voice? It makes perfect sense once you realize how that little app intrudes on Apple’s hegemony.
Don't assume a business degree will make you rich - it came in at No. 35 on a recent survey of starting salaries. Here are the degrees that offer the best (and the worst) payoffs.

Johnston - Family History & Genealogy Message Board
- Johnston's in SC d of fever abt 1824; parents of boy b abt 1820-21 & Jeanette b Jan 1823
Looking for a husband & wife with last name Johnston (Johnson or Johnstone, but family bible says Johnston) who died in SC abt 1824 (possibly anytime between 1823-1833) of yellow fever.
Anybody know if the largest epidemic in SC after 1823 is in 1824? I read that & that's why I was guessing 1824 as a possible death date.
Does anybody know if the yellow fever epidemic was more widespread in Charleston in 1824 than in other parts of SC?
My ancestor---Jeanette Johnston--was their daughter, b Jan 1823. Both Jeanette & her older brother were adopted by two different families in NC when they were both young.
THANKS
~Katherine - Re: James Johnston/Johnson - shoemakers in New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan
They do not seem to be of the same family, but thank you for writing about them. Yours were better educated! - Re: James Johnston/Johnson - shoemakers in New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan
My James Johnston came to America in 1794 from Ireland with his 3 children, William, Elizabeth and Benjamin, possibly Molly.
William lived in Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania. He was trained as a shoemaker, but was also a physician and preacher.
His son Charles was also trained as a shoemaker and lived in Pennsylvania. He was also a photographer later in life.
Elizabeth was a pharmacist and was Benjamin.
I'm afraid they may not have been the same family. - Re: James Johnston/Johnson - shoemakers in New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan
Can you tell me anything about them? My gg grandfather, James Johnston, (also Johnson) was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, I think. Was orphaned and ended up in Cleveland by 1820. Moved to Ypsilanti in 1850. I am sure they were in Pennsylvania, but don't know for how long and with whom. It would have been sometime between 1794 and 1820. He seems to have had close relations with both Palmers and Cozads. Cozad had a tannery in Cleveland (Euclid) about 1810. James may have been with an adopted parent, so has been hard to find. This family seem to be related to the Insley Douglass Johnstons, but not directly descended. - Re: James Johnston/Johnson - shoemakers in New Jersey, Ohio, Michigan
My gggrandfather and his father were shoemakers by trade. They lived in Ohio and Pennsylvania. - Thomas and Eva Rowell Johnston Berkeley County, SC

Sorry, I misunderstand my Great-Great Aunt. Gen. ASJ was Mahala's Great Uncle. So I'm looking for the siblings and descendents So I can maybe find the missing pieces. I've just started this in the last year and came across of lot of info in my Grandmother's things after she passed. I think my Great-Great Aunt said ours is the John Johnston line, but I would like to be able to proof it and there are missing parts. - Re: A. S. Johnston's family tree ?
To jander76111 -
Can't help you here. "Your" Albert Sidney Johnston couldn't be the famous CSA general, because that A.S. Johnston didn't have any sisters named Mahala. Here's the information on Gen'l A.S. Johnston:
Albert Sidney's grandfather was Archibald Johnston. Archibald had several children including John Johnston, b. abt 1762 in Salisbury, Connecticut.
John Johnston married three times:
m1. Mary Stoddard in 1783
m2. Abigail (or Abigale) Harris in 1794 in Mason County, KY
m3. Mary Byers in 1806
Issue of John Johnston and m1. Mary Stoddard:
(1) Josiah Stoddard Johnston b 11/24/1784 who married Eliza Sibley in 1814
(2) Darius Johnston
(3) Orramel Johnston
Issue of John Johnston and m2. Abigail Harris:
(1) John Harris Johnston who married Eliza Ellen Davidson
(2) Lusius Johnston
(3) Anna Maria Johnston who married James Byers
(4) Clarissa Johnston
(5) Albert Sidney Johnston who married m1. Henrietta Preston and m2. Eliza Griffin
(6) Eliza Johnston who married John A McClung
John Johnston and Mary Byers had no children.
So CSA general Albert Sidney Johnston didn't have a sister named Mahala Adeline who married a Reeves. His only sisters were Anna Maria who married a Byers; Clarissa, who didn't marry; and Eliza, who married a McClung.
Albert Sidney Johnston did have a son who was also named Albert Sidney - but no
