Anthony Francis Hemm, 71, passed away Feb. 18, 2009 in Victorville. A resident of California for 35 years, he lived in Victorville for 12 years.
He was born June 24, 1937 in Troy, Ohio. He was self-employed as a landscaper for most of

Inland Memorial Mortuary in Colton handled the cremation.
HEMM DESCENDANTS
I am searching for any descendants of Charles Arthur Hemm and Ann Frances Hemm, who lived in St. Louis, Missouri. Charles was a barber and was born 9 Sep. 1893. He died 18 Aug. 1971. Ann died 26 March 1971 (she was 72). They are buried at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis.

Also searching for descendants of Francis "Frank" John Hemm, who resided in Kansas City, Missouri and worked for the Lyko Medicine Co. He lived at 417 Delaware Street and was born 13 May 1884 and is buried at Calvary Cemetery (died 3 March 1965), age 80. His wife was Gertrude Hemm (nee Ryan)and I understand they had one daughter named Gertrude, who did have descendants. I do not know where Gertrude is buried.

I am the granddaughter of Charles and Frank Hemm's brother, George Paul Hemm, who died in 1918 in Hays, Kansas and is also buried at Calvary Cemetery. George Paul Hemm was a physician who practiced in St. Louis from 1907 to 1910, then moving to Hays in 1910.

The father of these three boys, Francis M. Hemm, was also born in St. Louis and for 44 years was the Department Head of the Pharmacy College at Missouri Medical College. He also operated a pharmacy/drug store on the corner of Grand and Arsenal Streets in downtown St. Louis. He was married to Stephania Hemm (nee Kraus), both of them buried in the family plot at Calvary.

Hemm's from Illinois and Wisconsin
I have a friend named Shannon Hemm that is wanting to learn about her family. She said that she thinks that her great grandfather was named John Hemm. Does anyone out there know if John Hemm is the father of a Donald Joseph Hemm that was from Illinois? Donald Joseph Hemm had a son by the name of Donald Joseph Hemm Jr., a daughter that is named Pamebrella Hemm (goes by Pammie of Pam). Donald Joseph Hemm Jr. had a half sister through his mother and this half sister married a Hemm and her name is Elizabeth Hemm. Donald Joseph Hemm Jr. and his half sister who married a Hemm (Elizabeth Hemm) both live in Wisconsin. Donald Joseph Hemm Sr. died in Wisconsin and his inheritance was left to his sister who took care of him. Also Shannon's father Donald Joesph Hemm Jr. was married before he married her mother and he had a son from his frist marriage that Shannon has no information about. She would love to find her brother. She said that her father's (Donald Joseph Hemm Jr's.) first wife was named Sue. If anyone knows any information of this Hemm Family History please let me know. I havent had much time the past few years to do much geneology. However, it appears that many of my Hemm/Schwingle relatives are still out there! Stacy and Elizabeth were my great-grandparents and I would love to get in touch with all of you. they are my family as well....their son ralph is my great grandfather. staceys family was george and emma fraces wallace, elizabeths family was john schwingle and louise...i dont have her maiden name.

george and emma are buried in Xenia Cemetery outside of woodward. you can find them on find a grave. william (willie) and melinda agnes are also there.

susie the spelling on the tombstone is Hem and it is near the long gone town of WhiteElm Ia.Which is S.W. of Selma Iowa.Our ancestory was also a stone mason and lived in Ill. and Mo. before settling here in Iowa.

Just a couple of other points: According to my records James T. Hemm is James Torance Hemm, and I have to correct myself on the year of his birth. He was born in September 1895, but in Idaho...not Iowa. He was the only one of Jacob C. Hemm's children born out west.

He married Katherine (Kate) Hanlon in 1921 and their son Homer was born in 1925. The last I heard, about 2 years ago, Homer was still living...probably in Arizona. I think that Homer had two boys, but I'm not totally sure.

I never knew that my Uncle Jim had a wife before Kate. My ancestors were holding out on me. My father was Glenn Dale Hemm, originally known as Timothy Amos Hemm. According to my father's handwritten notes, James T. Hemm was born in Idaho in 1896.

I'd like to hear more about the cousins that I never knew I had.
