Just a couple weeks ago I wrote about how , and it appears they've listened . . . a little. United is bringing back regional upgrades for its top fliers. This combined with the airline's makes for a big week for the airline.

  • Peppers Grill & Bar : 'Worst Quesadilla Ever'
by Skyfox33I am not a regular customer and I have only had a vegetarian Quesadilla. I'm not sure why but they put broccoli and carrots in it. This is not Quesadilla material and did not work at all. I picked all of it out but it still wasn't saved. I can think of many other vegetables that would be better for a Quesadilla like, mushrooms, spinach, olives, tomatoes, beans, onions, bell peppers, chili peppers....but broccoli and carrots??? I was really expecting better from a state so near the Mexico border.Peppers Grill & Bar 500 N Main St, Roswell (575) 623-1700

  • Chili's Grill & Bar : 'Not Quite Chili's Standards - -'
by Happy JohnIf you come by yourself to this Chili's and do not sit at the bar, expect lackluster service.
It takes a long time to get drinks refilled, my order taken, or even trying to get the server's attention. There isn't a problem when I visit here with another person. It's only when I sit solo.
This is my third visit to this Chili's to watch NFL Sunday football: twice last season and once the 2009-10 season. All three times I sat at a tall table in the corner. I even tell the server from the initial order that I plan to have appetizers and lunch over the course of the game. That does not seem to make a difference.
How poor is service? This is the only review I've written about a Carlsbad, NM business. I don't like to bash the "home town" businesses. All my other postings about Carlsbad businesses were articles or health inspection reports from the local newspaper.
I'll come here again with friends. I plan to go else where when I'm having lunch solo.Chili's Grill & Bar 2249 S Canal St, Carlsbad (575) 628-1275

  • The Buford Steakhouse : 'ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE'
by anonymousHave you ever been to a steakhouse with no steaks on the menu? It is very disappointing. It "used" to be a steakhouse. It's a sports bar now. Although they offered two outrageously high priced steaks and enchiladas with no salad or type of bread like a tortilla they charge for a sopapilla to eat with a supposed steak meal. They also charged 1.79 for a coke that said it was 1.29 on the menu. I gave this place four thumbs down for faulty advertising and bland steaks. The Buford Steakhouse Hwy. 41 N., Moriarty (505) 832-6525
  • Cattle Baron Steak & Seafood : 'Disappointing'
by Steven JabourComing from Albuquerque to visit a friend in Roswell, we decided that a good course for food would be to enjoy a steak at a restaurant known for it's cuts. However, we were all left disappointed and upset at the end of the evening.
First and foremost, the steak. In a steakhouse, your expectations should be reasonably high; great cut of meat, cooked exactly how you ordered with a flavor that should keep you wanting. However, of the two rib eyes and one filet (all ordered medium), all came back dry and over cooked. Of course, at nearly $25.00 per plate, we sent it back to the kitchen. The next round of steaks were cooked correctly. However, at an additional wait time of 25 minutes, it hardly made up for the past mistake.
The service ended up being our second area of disappointment. We were only checked on twice and never in a friendly, welcoming manner. For over an hour visit, we expected our waitress to be more attentive, however even with alcohol ordered, we were not given any better treatment.
At the end of the night, I would have to say I would never visit this establishment again. Going out to dinner is a luxury and it should be treated as such by any establishment. I felt that we were ushered in and thrown a bill, with no reciprocation of quality service; I was insulted.Cattle Baron Steak & Seafood 1113 N Main St, Roswell (505) 622-2465
  • La Hacienda : 'Nuked our Plates out of Comission'
by Drexler McStylesBeing next door to our hotel, we thought we'd check this place out. (This is NOT part of the La Hacienda NM Chain) It was pretty busy for 2 in the afternoon but we were seated promptly and our waitress was quick to bring us drinks and take our order. I ordered the Smothered Chicken Burrito Plate and my wife ordered the (supposedly) famous Chile Relleno Plate. When the food arrived it was immediately obvious that our plates and food had been microwaved. The beans were fried and dried out where they met the edge of the plate. The rice seemed like it had already been reheated several times. My wifes Chile Relleno suffered the worst, becoming soggy and limp. A major disappointment for $8. My burrito was fine but not really worth 7 bucks. If this is one of the better restaurants in Alamogordo, I can see why the parking lot at Applebees was packed and why there was a long line at the drive in at Taco Bell every time we drove by. Bummer.La Hacienda 804 N White Sands Blvd, Alamogordo (505) 443-1860
