Thank you so much! That was a nice early Christmas present!
  • Re: Ruby Mae Vandall
I'm very happy that I was able to help. There is a very good way to "return the favor"--help others when you are in a position to do so.
  • Re: CHARLOTTE CAULKINS MADACHY

    THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS.
  • Re: Ruby Mae Vandall
I appreciate your help so very much, ma'am. You've cleared up a mystery for me. I only wish there were some way I could return the favor.
  • Re: Ruby Mae Vandall
I've attached the obituaries for both Ruby Mae VANDALL and her husband. To view them full size simply click on the thumbnails. A. Bernard Vandall's obit. didn't copy well so I transcribed it into the box put on it by the library.

  • Re: James Daniel ROBBINS- Birth or Death Certificate Lookup
OK, good to know. Would church records be the place to look then?
  • Re: James Daniel ROBBINS- Birth or Death Certificate Lookup
Thanks for your reply, but I got no matches on FamilySearch.
  • Re: MOORE
Mary A Moore was the second cousin to my great grandfather, Charles Ellis Brewster. I have two letters she wrote to him when he was a young man just starting to learn about his family history. I have these letters scanned and can send you copies if you are interested.

  • Re: Raymond Dillion
Yes, county employment is part of what I meant by civil service. Employees in the city for which I first worked were not covered by social security unless they were hired sometime after 1960 - it may even have been the mid-late 1960s. If that were his only employment then he may not have had social security and would not be in their index. I am sure an e-mail to the human resources department at Franklin County could provide an answer as to when their employees began to be covered by SS.
  • Re: Raymond Dillion
I am so very sorry for your loss. It is a very sad situation. I just wish I could have been more help.
Let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you
and your family. I pray you find the answers you are looking for.
  • Re: Raymond Dillion
he did work for parks and rec. of franklin county at one time, maybe that is civil employee???
  • Re: Raymond Dillion
    thank you--that is the house
  • Re: Raymond Dillion
thank you, i will try that. just need some closure, i am sure he grieved himself to death after mom passed away.
  • Re: Raymond Dillion
If they were not covered by Social Security, perhaps a civil service employee, they would not be there. If Social Security were not notified of their death, perhaps they had never claimed benefits, they would not be there.
